This Woman Announced Her Job Offer Like An Engagement With Hilarious Photos
Facebook is often the first place people turn to share exciting news, many times accompanied by annoyingly cute photos of their engagement ring, tiny baby shoes next to a chalkboard with a date scribbled on it, or the happy couple kissing. Well, one California woman one-upped everyone on social media by posting hilarious photos announcing her new job as if she’s announcing an engagement. Because, seriously, a lot more hard work and skill goes into finding an amazing job than finding a spouse, and it deserves to be celebrated.
Benita Abraham, 37, uploaded the album to Facebook earlier this week with the caption: “So excited to share my happy news with my FB family! I finally found my soulmate, my perfect match, my boo. After 7 long months, I found the perfect job with a company that truly cares about its employees and one I will learn so much from.”
Fittingly titled “#Employed,” the album shows her lying in bed and on the beach with her job offer letter, complete with decorative chalkboards that that say, “Will you work for me?,” “I said yes,” and “Our love story.” (I don’t know who had the idea that chalkboards scream “LOVE,” but the industry must be doing pretty well these days.) Abraham looks lovingly into the eyes of her job offer, excited by their future and the beautiful life they’ll build together.
Abraham told ABC News of the photoshoot, “It was just a way for me to kind of share this news in a silly and creative way that’s true to my personality.”
Her new job is in health administration, and she started Monday. “It was amazing!” Abraham told ABC News of her first day. “I learned so much, and it was just a half day.” Hopefully the match remains strong after the honeymoon phase.
The saying “married to your career” wasn’t created for nothing, and some people prefer to put more energy into work than trying to find someone to wake up next to. No matter what type of marriage you choose, you’re entitled to a fun photoshoot proclaiming your love to the world.
Abraham is a hero to single people everywhere. I mean, I’ll take any excuse to make fun of sappy couples and celebrate my singleness and work achievements. Even for coupled folks, this new revelation means the days of photoshoots and Facebook announcements never have to end — unless you stay at the same job forever, that is.
