Chrissy Teigen Trolls Her Haters With A Fake Baby Luna At The NBA Finals

If there is such a thing as a benevolent Twitter troll, it’s model Chrissy Teigen, who trolls her haters in the best ways, always. Ever since she had her baby, she’s been shamed like crazy by everyone who thinks they know how she should be parenting. She went out to dinner a week after giving birth and Twitter flipped its lid. She said she was getting a night nurse because she’s rich AF and can do what she wants, and Twitter flipped out again.

The list really does goes on. It got so bad at one point that her husband, John Legend, eventually started responding to anyone trolling his wife’s social accounts. “Funny there’s no dad shaming,” he tweeted in May. “When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn’t have to take it all.”

Even though it was nice of Legend to come to her defense (I love a guy who’s got anyone’s back), it’s not like Teigen needs the help. In fact, she sort of hilariously plays into it sometimes. While hanging out at the soundcheck before the game, Teigen was taking pics of her and baby Luna watching Legend prepare to sing the national anthem. Already, the judgment was raining down the Lip Sync Battle hype-queen, as people were worried about the noise level for the newborn.

So, Teigen took to Snapchat (where the Twitter trolls yelling at her about the noise level of a basketball couldn’t find her) and posted the makings of a prank. She rolled a stuffed animal into a blanket after tucking Luna in with a babysitter in their VIP suite, planning on sneaking the fake baby in to take a picture and post on social media.

“Twitter is going to be so mad,” she laughs. Earning an award for best partner in crime ever, John Legend, sort of just shakes his head in the background. Eventually, they make it back down to their courtside seats, but alas, they couldn’t bring the fake baby to get social media’s collective panties in a bunch.

It’s sort of hysterical that Teigen and Legend (he’s there grinning maniacally the whole time) would go out of their way to get all the idiots on Twitter riled up about the noise level of the game and Luna’s little ears. Because there are just as many comments in the thread — as there have been in the past since she’s had her baby and still continues to leave her house (the audacity!) — about the perils of leaving a small helpless child with a babysitter. She cannot win.

Teigen usually responds to the hate with a digital eye roll, like retweeting the most insane comments or just blatantly asking people to calm the fuck down. She’s pretty much right — she can’t win, which is why it’s good that she was able to move on and think about the really important things in life.

Of course a basketball game is loud and all of that, but I bet the real reason Teigen was happy to leave Luna in the VIP suite snoozing was so she could have two hands to enjoy the refreshments. That would be my motivation all around.
