Watch Grimes Perform On ‘Jimmy Fallon’ & Bask In The Greatness Of 3 Other Iconic Performances

If you need a reminder of the great music that’s being currently produced and the great taste in musical guests Jimmy Fallon continues to have, you should watch Grimes perform on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. As you would expect, Grimes performed in a dress that made her look like the witchy baroness of a sky colony while surrounded by an equally festive band.

She performed her hit song “Flesh Without Blood” from her 2015 album Art Angels while flooded with what resembles the color scheme of an Andy Warhol-themed nightclub. Obviously, she blasted it out of the water and fucking killed it.

At this point in time, there are two constants in life that I know I can always depend on: Jimmy Fallon picks good musicians to appear on his late-night show, and Grimes knows how to bring live excellency. I saw her at a show two years ago and witnessed two bros duking it out in the crowd (bros have unfortunately found Grimes), and she was still able to hold the rapt attention of the crowd and slay her performance of “Be A Body.”

You don’t have to take my word for it though: Here’s the beautiful spectacle that is Grimes performing on Jimmy Fallon below. If that doesn’t convert you into appreciating her, I’ve included three other times she brought the fever onstage.

Now that you’ve caught up on the gift that was last night’s show, here are five other Grimes performances you should see.
1. Grimes Performing At A Beach Goth Festival In 2015
The fact that Grimes performed tracks from her latest album Art Angels a Beach Goth festival is beyond ideal considering “beach goth” is the most apt way to describe the album. Either that, or coming down from molly on a beach while reading Nabokov. Po-tay-to, po-tah-to.
2. Grimes Performing “Genesis” In 2012 At Pitchfork Festival
You can’t explore the web performance of Claire Boucher without watching her perform her hit “Genesis” at the Pitchfork Festival. It’s the catchy track that sticks in the heads of those otherwise unacquainted with her music, and its essence is fully captured in this sweat-driven performance.
3. Grimes Performing With Janelle Monáe In Atlanta
Unless you scored a press pass or are one of the moneyed few, it’s likely you missed this year’s Coachella, which included a wonderful set by Grimes in which Janelle Monáe briefly appeared. While videos of Coachella are no longer available online, there is this wonderful clip of Janelle Monáe and Grimes performing their joint track “Venus Fly” to an overjoyed audience.
I can only hope and pray that this sent you down the rabbit hole of the Grimes discography. Just out here trying to do the good work, guys.
