Here Are All The Nominations For The Tony Awards AKA The Hamilton Awards

The Tony Awards are the SuperBowl for theatre kids everywhere and with this morning’s Tony Awards nominations, all the tap-dancing-jazz-handing-character-shoe-loving teens of America are probably very pleased. To nobody’s surprise, Hamilton scored a record-breaking 16 nominations. I mean, President Obama has seen this show twice and he’s a very busy guy. This show must be something truly special. I haven’t seen it myself because I have student loans.

As a New York City resident, I often walk by The Richard Rogers Theater, which is currently the home for Hamilton. People are always camping outside overnight, waiting in the cancellation line. People wait for the cast by the stage door even though their Playbills are for Kinky Boots. They just want to get a glimpse of the creators and talent involved even though they themselves didn’t see the show.

Here is the full list of nominations via The New York Times. Although, I think they should just skip the awards ceremony this year and air the Pulitzer Prize winning Hamilton instead.

Congratulations, you made it to the end of the list! You’re reward is a celebratory Tweet from Hamilton’s creator, lead performer, and future winner of a ton of Tonys, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

If he’s this excited now, imagine how excited he’ll be when they win all 16 awards.
