Here Are All Best Outfits From The Met Gala 2016 Red Carpet

Tonight marks the 60th annual Met Gala, which leaves some people feeling excited to attend, others feeling left out, and the rest of us wondering: what exactly is the Met Gala? For those vaguely familiar but not-too-sure, the Met Gala is a yearly fundraiser full of well-moneyed artists and culture-makers drinking expensive wine in black tie, all to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. It’s a lavish fundraiser for the Met’s fashion department, because unlike the rest of the museum  fashion department is required to fund themselves.

As a lavish fundraiser at one of the world’s most famous art museums, it involves yearly themes and rotating high-status hosts. This year’s hosts included none other than Vogue’s ice-queen Ann Wintour, the James Bond we the New York gentrification sweetheart Taylor Swift, and the Apple design officer Jonathan Ive. The theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology, a design that left open a wide pool of outfit possibilities for the lucky guests.

With tickets selling at $30,000 a piece (all proceeds went to the Fashion Department) and the guest list limited to 600, the coveted status of these party invitations undoubtedly sent many an art snob into a fury. But for those included, this proved the perfect venue to show off their glamorous technology-themed digs. So without further adieu, here are all of the best outfits from the 2016 Met Gala.
