The New Rihanna Song With Calvin Harris, “This Is What You Came For,” Is Your Friday Afternoon Jam
It’s been a helluva week for music, and it doesn’t look like things are letting up any time soon. The world is still reeling from Beyoncé’s cinematic masterpiece Lemonade, but guess what?? Rihanna and mega-producer Calvin Harris aren’t resting on their laurels, either. The dynamic duo unleashed their newest collaboration, “This Is What You Came For,” and it’s no joke. “This Is What You Came For” is a deliciously dancey electro-flavored song that will make you unwittingly groove in your chair or car or wherever you happen to be blasting it. Harris teased the single yesterday on Twitter and Instagram before releasing it earlier today on Spotify, where it’s been on whatever the digital equivalent is of steady repeat chez Frisky all morning.

The multi-hyphenate bad girl worked with Harris on “We Found Love,” the hugely addictive hit featured in the Magic Mike trailer. Some of us are still a little salty that “We Found Love” wasn’t actually in Magic Mike, but that’s a rant for another day. They performed “We Found Love” at Coachella last week for thousands of flower-crown-wearing off-duty models, and it was utterly delightful to watch it on a live stream from the relative comfort of our living rooms.
Rihanna’s been unveiling new videos right and left, like last week’s “Needed Me” and “Kiss It Better” earlier this month. Of course, we can’t forget “Work,” which has been in the Hot 100 for weeks now, and then there’s the unforgettable, stabby-tastic, freelance anthem “BBHMM.” And she’s on the April cover of Vogue. She’s currently on her Anti World Tour, which will take her across the country and to Europe through August, because sleep is for the weak.
