Caitlyn Jenner Is Officially a Beauty Spokesmodel

Caitlyn Jenner joins the ranks of Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga as a MAC Viva Glam spokesmodel with today’s campaign launch.

The rosy nude lipstick is named, appropriately, Forever Free. “I wanted a name that I use and which represents the [trans] community,” said Jenner in an interview with MAC. “This is who I am: Finally Free.” Viva Glam remains one of the best charitable beauty buys out there — it costs $17 and 100% of the proceeds go to the MAC Aids Fund Transgender Initiative. “To be honest, I want people to use it every day so they have to buy more,” said Jenner. “I want to raise a lot of money. It’s very simple.”

Viva Glam has never been afraid to step outside the box with their spokesmodels; here’s Ru Paul as their very first campaign face in 1994.

The brand has steered more towards pop stars in recent years. While I’ll never say no to a picture of Rihanna, I don’t necessarily think “AIDS charity” when I see her face. Here’s hoping we get more spokespeople like Jenner in the future.
