Random House Wants to Publish Lena Dunham Foreva, For-eva eva
The creative team behind your favorite newsletter is about to expand to the oldest newsletter known to man—books.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner are launching a Lenny imprint with Random House, the same company that published Dunham’s Not That Kind of Girl memoir in 2014. They just love books, okay?
While we love our home on the Internet, Jenni and I are both voracious readers (of books and book reviews) who are constantly trading titles and allowing them to stir us creatively,” Dunham tells BuzzFeed. “Our friendship often doubles as a book club…. Lenny books will aspire to push the ball forward on the issues that matter to our audience, with wit and style. We hope to see them sticking out of purses and riding public transportation everywhere.
The pair hopes to publish “both fiction and non-fiction writers with strong voices.” For their sake I hope at least half of the authors they publish are not white women, as Dunham has been roundly criticized for the lack of diversity on her TV show Girls.
