‘Grace and Frankie’ Is Back And Asking the Big Questions

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, two comedy angels, return as Grace and Frankie in Season 2 of Netflix’s show about two women moving on after their husbands leave them for each other.

Season 2 picks up with a turn in Frankie’s relationship with her ex (Sam Waterston). The relationship dynamics between the former couples are interesting to unpack, but the show’s real delight is the push-pull chemistry between these two titans. (Closely followed by the lifestyle porn of their gorgeous Nancy Meyers-esque California homes.) Lily Tomlin’s Frankie isn’t straying away from life’s big questions this season: “What do you want?” Meanwhile, Jane Fonda makes a vodka watermelon and buys a vibrator. (Important life q: Are you a Grace or a Frankie?)

Fellow cast members Martin Sheen, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embrey, June Dean Raphael, and Baron Vaughn are all back in play. Season 2 will be fully streamable on Netflix on May 6, and it’s already been renewed for a third. “Kids, brace yourselves,” indeed.
