‘The Larry Sanders Show’ Should Be The Next Show You Binge Watch

Before 30 Rock and The Office, there was The Larry Sanders Show. It aired on HBO from 1992 to 1998 and was created by comedic mastermind Gary Shandling, who just passed away on Thursday due to a heart attack at the age of 66.

This show is the OG when it comes to satirical sit-coms. The setting for the show is a  fictional late night TV talk show. Scenes took place both in the live studio and in the show’s offices and writers’ rooms, similar to show structure of 30 Rock. The show is centered around Larry Sanders, the host of the show, who was played by Shandling himself.

Throughout it’s 6 seasons, oodles of celebrities portray over-the-top exaggerated versions of themselves. It also has a super strong core cast of funny people including Jeffrey Tambor, Rip Torn, and Janeane Garofalo.

According to Vulture, the show will be returning to HBO in the near future. In the meantime, it can be purchased from Amazon or Itunes. If you like shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and/or Parks and Recreation, do yourself a favor and watch The Larry Sanders Show.
