Right now, we could all use a lil’ pick-me-up to remind us that the week is halfway done and the rest and relaxation of the weekend is quickly approaching. Luckily, the lovely Cyndi Lauper has gifted us with a cover of Patsy Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight,” that provides the calming motivation needed on a Wednesday afternoon.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal about her upcoming country album Detour, Lauper said that she’s always been a huge fan of Patsy Cline and used to listen to her all the time in the 80’s at the peak of her fame.

She said:

“I didn’t want to live with the whole bodyguard thing. I hate that. At that point in my life, I just stayed in and my friend worked at MCA and sent me all these Patsy Cline tapes. That was like my best friend and I sang and sang with her.”

This new new studio cover is everything. Thank you Cyndi, for blessing us.
