Jessica Chastain And Chris Hemsworth Go Hard In The Huntsman: Winter’s War

Have you ever wondered about the origins of Snow White and the Evil Queen and all that jazz? No? Well, The Huntsman: Winter’s War is here to tell you what’s up. This sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman has everything: Jessica Chastain and Chris Hemsworth as a dynamic ass-kicking duo; Emily Blunt screaming and turning everything to ice; Charlize Theron screaming and spitting up black goo; some sort of crazy CGI animals; and maybe even a little bodice-ripping. We can get down with all of that, thank you.

Theron reprises her role as Queen Ravenna, the gorgeous golden queen who does her sister Freya (Blunt) extremely dirty. In return, Ice Queen Freya builds up an army of fierce Huntsmen (and Huntswomen!) to protect her; that army includes Sara (Chastain) and Eric (Hemsworth) as lifelong BFFs who have maybe caught some feelings for each other despite Freya’s strict rule against inter-Huntsperson love. Things come to a head when Ravenna and Freya officially go to war! Maybe they should take a cue from Frozen and just, you know, let bygones be bygones. But probs not. All’s fair in love and war and sex and sibling rivalry.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War hits theaters on April 22.
