Of Course Beyoncé Is Too Expensive For Bradley Cooper’s ‘A Star Is Born’ Remake!!

Hey, so, remember how Bradley Cooper was going to direct that remake of A Star Is Born? Remember how the lead role — a young ingenue with dreams of stardom who enlists an aging crone to lift her to the top — was going to be played by Beyoncé? Were you confused as to why Beyoncé would be playing an ingenue and why Bradley Cooper was set to direct this mess?

Were you excited to see this? Sorry to say, it’s not gonna happen, because reportedly, Beyoncé was too expensive. Page Six reports, via a “Hollywood source”.

“Beyoncé wanted too much money, and Warner Bros. balked at her price. The production budget was also said to be an issue with the studio, so the project has fallen apart.”

Of…course Beyoncé was too expensive! Beyoncé could buy and sell Bradley Cooper. It was a good effort, but you know, it’s high time to let some other people shine.

This remake has been a twinkle in Hollywood’s eye since 2011, with Clint Eastwood set to direct the first version. Strangely, Beyoncé’s name has always been attached as the female lead. But…why? Beyoncé is fantastic at so many things, but I’m sorry, acting is not one of them. Also, it’s fair to say that she is one of the most powerful women in entertainment today. She certainly shouldn’t be cast as the aging crone, but I think that her time to play an enterprising young upstart has passed. Here’s a few suggestions, B-Coopz, if you’re listening!

  • Zendaya
  • Willow Smith
  • Yara Shahidi
  • Ugh, Lucy Hale, if you wanna go country with it
  • Taylor Goddamn Swift (kidding, clearly!)
  • Your best friend, Jennifer Lawrence, she’s sooooo versatile!!!

Look around Hollywood. Close your eyes and do a slow circle in the middle of an Oscar’s party with your arms outstretched. I guarantee there’s someone else who’s more deserving of this role. Indulge your inner auteur, Coops, and try a teensy bit harder! A star can still be born, but it doesn’t have to be Beyoncé.
