Erin Andrews Was Awarded $55 Million In Peeping Tom Lawsuit
Erin Andrews, of Fox Sports, received $55 million in her lawsuit against her stalker and the Nashville hotel management group and owner, after being secretly videotaped through a peephole in her room at a Nashville Marriot in 2008.
The Tennessean reports that Andrews originally sought $75 million in damages. The video of her changing in her hotel room, taken by Micheal David Barrett, circulated quickly around the internet and was eventually posted online. A jury of seven women and five men deliberated for seven hours before reaching their verdict.
Andrews shared a message of support on Twitter and reportedly wept as the verdict was read in court.
