Vermont Craft Brewery Dedicates A ‘Bernie Weiss’ Beer To Bernie Sanders

Although Super Tuesday was a difficult loss in many ways for Bernie Sanders, he had the unique option to comfort himself post-polling–by kicking back and drinking one of the  ‘Bernie Weisse’ specialty brews released in his honor.

The Vermont-based operation Zero Gravity Brewing specifically released the Berliner Weisse beer on Tuesday to as a delicious support for Sanders, with 20 percent of the proceeds going towards the non-profit HeadCount which encourages young people to vote. Described as “slightly sour and forward-thinking flavor,” the Bernie Weisse cans are adorned with an endearing caricature of the presidential candidate in a plaid shirt and suspenders, and were an immediate big draw.

“We had a huge line out the door in the morning,” reported the brewery employee Matt Wilson, “We sold through about half of it in about an hour.”

This isn’t the first, and likely won’t be the last in the trend of Bernie Sanders inspired food, which at this point includes ice cream, vegan burgers and now this beer.
