Proposed Bill In Kentucky Would Require Wife’s Permission For Viagra Prescription

If this bill in Kentucky indeed becomes law, men seeking Viagra or other erectile dysfunction drugs would be required to get a signed note from their wife and swear on a Bible they would only use the drugs during sex with their spouse. HOLY SHIT. These men would also be required to prove they’re married and visit the doctor twice before to getting the drugs.

Finally, a bill that would make men experience what we have to go through with almost everything that has to do with our female reproductive parts. The bill also insinuates that all men needing Viagra are heterosexual and married to a woman, just the way the far right likes it, correct? Maybe finally they can get a taste of what we have experienced as women our entire lives.

The Representative, Mary Lou Marzian who has introduced this House Bill said of her plan:

“I want to protect these men from themselves. This is about family values. I’ve had it with 80 men telling women what to do so I thought I’d just tell them what to do.”

Even though this bill is admittedly tongue-in-cheek, it’s no different than the countless anti-abortion and contraceptive laws that Republicans try to pass every day.

Bravo Rep. Marzian for at least getting the word out and trying to do something.
