Fan-ibals Rejoice! Bryan Fuller Coming Back to TV To Reboot ‘Star Trek’

Do you love television? Even if you aren’t an avid fan of Hannibal, Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls, or Dead Like Me, you should be thrilled that one of the most original and thoughtful creators is coming back to TV!

Variety reports that Bryan Fuller has been named the showrunner for the new Star Trek series, slated to start in January 2017. It doesn’t hurt that his nerd cred is strong and he’s already written for the franchise, getting his start writing for Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Star Trek will be produced by CBS, but part of their push to get people to watch via their subscription service:

The new series is set to bow on CBS in January 2017, then move to CBS’ All Access digital subscription service. It will be the first original series to launch on a broadcast network but air primarily on an SVOD service.
