Kevin Smith’s Daughter Almost Kidnapped By Fake Uber Drivers, Consoled With Cake

Filmmaker Kevin Smith’s daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, was reportedly almost kidnapped by two guys who were pretending to be Uber drivers, proving that the only thing worse than Uber is fake Uber.

Harley, who is 16, sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders. She said the men pulled up and tried to get her in their car. She wrote on Instagram:  “They were most definitely not Uber drivers. When I asked who they were there to pick up, making sure it was the right car, they wouldn’t answer me and said to get in the car. They didn’t have the Uber app on their phone and were clearly just two disgusting dudes trying to kidnap a girl standing on her own.”

To make her feel better, Smith gave his daughter a cake that read “Sorry Men Suck”:

My coworkers claimed originally that this would be an inadequate way to respond, but I think I’ve brought them over to the cake way of thinking. My preferred response from my dad, were I a 16-year-old who had almost been kidnapped, would be:

  1. Police report
  2. Tazer
  3. Cake
  4. My own car, for Pete’s sake, dude can afford it

Good for Harley for keeping her wits about her and trusting her gut, and good for Kevin Smith for knowing the immense healing power of cake.
