Gross Yoga Guru Confirmed To Be Gross In Sexual-Harassment Judgment

Yoga guru Bikram Choudhury has been ordered to pay over $900,000 to a former employee who was fired after she looked into claims that Chodhury raped a student.

Six women have accused Chodhury of sexual harassment since 2013, though at least four were dismissed due to a lack of “corroborating witnesses and physical evidence,” according to a memo obtained (and paraphrased) by the L.A. Times.

In this particular case, plaintiff Minakshi Jafa-Bodden accused Chodhury of gender discrimination, wrongful termination and sexual harassment. According to the paper, over the course of the trial, Chodhury has responded by saying Jafa Bodden’s suit includes “lies” and also “big lies.” He did, however, admit to discussing his penis during a teacher training course.

In an interview with CNN following the initial allegations, Chodhury defended himself saying, “Women likes me, women loves me… If I want to get involved with the women, I don’t have to assault anybody.”

Obviously, that one would “have to” engage in sexual assault doesn’t seem like the kind of thing your average woman-respecter would say, but who knows? Chodhury’s wife apparently won’t even look at him anymore, so at least somebody gets it. Please count this incident as a excuse to avoid working out this week, if you need one.
