Girls’ Basketball Team Kicked Out Of League For Being Too Talented
A Minnesota girls’ basketball team was kicked out of its league this week for literally being too good.
Coach Jason Hanauska told Fox 9 the Rogers Area Youth Basketball Team was booted from the Northwest Suburban Basketball League, “because according to the league our girls were too talented.” A spokesperson informed the team they would be excluded from an upcoming showcase tournament in the form of a letter, which cites “skill level” as the basis for exclusion. Probably the fact that other teams are being crybabies and threatening to forfeit games or just quit is also part of it.
The team is very upset and plans to fight the decision, including one player who astutely asked, “Are we supposed to play worse just to make them happy?” So much for “playing like a girl.”
