Apparently, Matthew Perry Can’t Remember Filming Three Seasons Of “Friends”
In a recent interview with BBC News, Matthew Perry revealed that he can’t remember filming seasons three through six of friends, because drugs and alcohol.
When asked about his least favorite episode, Perry responded, “I think the answer is, I don’t remember three years of it… I was a little out of it.”
It’s pretty honest for him to say that inside of, like, “Actually, I don’t have a least favorite,” especially since this was an interview about a play he’s in right now and not a sitcom that ended over 10 years ago. Although, Perry has been notably transparent about his struggles in the past.
The actor has said that he suffered from alcoholism during a large portion of “Friends” run and became addicted to Vicodin after a jet ski accident in 1997. In a 2013 exclusive cover story with People, Perry was particularly candid about his struggles on set.
“I was never high at work. I was painfully hung over,” he told the tabloid. “Then eventually things got so bad I couldn’t hide it and everybody knew.”
