Texas Grand Jury Indicts Activists Who Smeared Planned Parenthood
Remember that completely bogus undercover video that claimed that Planned Parenthood was selling fetal organs? Remember how Congress used that bogus video to call a vote to defund Planned Parenthood? Remember all of the grating conservative posturing around it?
Well, get ready for your victory dance: A Texas grand jury that was originally called by governor Greg Abbott to investigate Planned Parenthood declined to indict Planned Parenthood and instead indicted two of the activists who filmed the videos.
David Daleidan and Sandra Merritt were indicted on a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record, and Daleidan was also indicted on a misdemeanor charge of “prohibition of the purchase and sale of human organs.”
Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson said in a statement: “As I stated at the outset of this investigation, we must go where the evidence leads us. All the evidence uncovered in the course of this investigation was presented to the grand jury. I respect their decision on this difficult case.”
Planned Parenthood also filed racketeering charges against Daleidan, so I guess it’s gonna be a bad year for him.
