A truly tragic story comes to us from Wisconsin this weekend. The Milwaukee Medical Examiner’s office reports that 21-year-old Elizabeth Luebke froze to death after leaving a house party in shorts.
According to a local report from CBS, Luebke walked out into the cold after a fight on Saturday night, and friends “wrongly assumed” she had been picked up after leaving. Eventually, someone called Luebke’s mother, who filed a missing person’s report, informing officials that Luebke had a “history of binge drinking.”
Fox 6 reports that Luebke’s body was discovered at 9 a.m. Sunday morning, following a night with temperatures “recorded as -5.8 degrees F with the wind chill recorded as -27.5 degrees F.” She was found wearing “shorts, stockings and a tank top.”
Please let this be a solemn reminder that no one never gets cold.
