Victory! Rey Will Be Added To The Star Wars Monopoly Game

After yesterday’s public outcry over Rey being missing from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens-licensed Monopoly game, Hasbro has decided to start making Rey figurines for the game. VICTORY!

Hasbro had originally responded by saying that Rey, the movie’s main character, was excluded from Monopoly in order to avoid revealing a “key plot line” about her joining the Rebel Alliance and fighting Kylo Ren, as if that was not already clear from the trailers. They said she would be featured in figurines and games like Guess Who and Star Wars-licensed chess sets, but like I said yesterday, Monopoly is the most popular game in the world. There’s really no comparison.

In a statement released on Twitter and Facebook, Hasbro said that they’d listen to their customers and the Star Wars franchise’s dedicated fans: “We love our fans’ passion for Rey, and are happy to share that we will be including her in the Monopoly: Star Wars game, available later this year.”

Now all of the fans who were asking #WhereIsRey have their answer: Park Place and Boardwalk, kicking her co-stars’ asses.
