Ohio Grand Jury: No Indictment In Police Killing Of Tamir Rice

An Ohio grand jury decided that there will be no indictment in the November 2014 police killing of 12-year-old Tamir Rice. The Cleveland boy was holding a toy gun when officers pulled up to him and shot him within two seconds. Prosecutor Tim McGinty says that it was “reasonable” for the officer who killed Rice to believe that he was facing a threat, although he also noted that Rice’s death was an “absolute tragedy” and urged toy makers not to make realistic-looking toy guns.
