Prague Zoo Has Largest Salamander On Earth

Chinese salamanders are a critically endangered animal and also the largest amphibian on the planet.

The Prague Zoo in the Czech Republic has said that their Chinese giant salamander, Karlo, that they received 9 months ago from Germany, is the largest of its species. Karlo is a whopping five feet and 2.3/16 inches long.

Karlo is estimated to be 37 to 38 years old (!!!) and weighs 7 pounds, while previously the largest salamander ever on record was 5 feet, 11 inches long.

I had no idea salamanders could live that long so I’m shocked by the size and the age to be honest!

That is a big ass salamander and also I love how his name is Karlo.
