No Surprise Here: ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Breaks All Box Office Records

The only way you wouldn’t know that the new “Star Wars” movie has taken over the world is if you have been living under a physical and social media rock this past week.

The extremely anticipated sequel “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has unsurprisingly shattered all expectations and raked in the highest numbers of a movie on opening night of all time. The movie took in $57 million from Thursday night previews and then combined with Friday’s actual premiere, raked in $100 million total. Disney even estimates that its earnings are closer to $125 million.

These millions mean “Star Wars” has the first triple-digit million single day for a movie ever, totally shattering the final “Harry Potter” which managed $91.1 million for opening day.

Folks say this is only the beginning, however, and that it will rake in more money than we ever expected. Do you think they have an idea when the craze will die down though? I’m getting kind of tired of it, personally. *ducks*
