Hello, Here’s The First “Fantastic Beasts” Trailer To Wig Out Over
Oh, hey, geek friends, you thought that Friday’s “Star Wars” premiere was going to be enough nerderie for the week? Well, Christmas has come early: The first trailer for J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter prequel “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” dropped last night (and really, 15 whole hours later, if you’re just now finding out then shame on you).
If you’re a medium-size Potter fan and you didn’t read the book of the same name, it’s Harry’s textbook as mentioned in The Sorcerer’s Stone. The film, however, is a spin-off of this spin-off, following magizoologist Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne, who between “The Danish Girl,” “Theory of Everything,” and now “Fantastic Beasts” is just having a banner couple of years) as he loses a case full of magical creatures while on a visit to 1926 New York. The tension of the story lies in the tenuous peace between wizards and No-Maj folks (American for Muggles), which, of course, the lost case places in the balance.
The movie will be released in November 2016. Does anyone else get eye-rolly over being teased for a full year before a movie is released?
