Planned Parenthood Shooter: “I’m Guilty! I’m A Warrior For Babies!”

Just in case it wasn’t abundantly clear already that Robert Louis Dear’s attack on the Colorado Springs’ Planned Parenthood on November 27 was politically motivated — because there are seriously some people who refuse to acknowledge what is plain as day — the defendant declared as much in court today. Dear was charged with 179 counts, including first-degree murder, and appears to be proud of it.

“I’m guilty. There’s no trial. I’m a warrior for the babies,” he yelled, according to The New York Times. And then later, when the judge was discussing a pre-trial publicity order, Dear hollered, “Could you add the babies that were supposed to be aborted that day? Could you add that to the list?” After his arrest, Dear also allegedly told investigators “no more baby parts,” directly referencing the erroneous claim made by anti-choice groups and the vast majority of the GOP Presidential frontrunners that Planned Parenthood is in the business of selling fetal tissue.

If I had my way, during next week’s millionth GOP debate, a moderator would actually have the balls to ask the candidates if they feel at all responsible for the deaths of Ke’Arre Stewar, Garrett Swasey, and Jennifer Markovsky at the Colorado Springs’ PP, given that Dear’s motives were pulled directly from their own fanatical talking points. But I won’t hold my breath. [NY Times]
