It’s Confirmed: The San Bernardino Shooters Were Affiliated With ISIS
As new information unfolds following the San Bernardino shooting, it’s been made scarily apparent that the attack was not only premeditated, but an intended act of terrorism.
The radicalism of the now-deceased shooters Tashfeen Malik and Syed Rizwan Farook had been thoroughly hidden from friends and family both in and outside the Muslim community. In the immediate wake of the shooting, Farook’s brother-in-law expressed genuine shock and hopeful doubts that this wasn’t deeply meditated terrorism.
Updated reports from a source from CNN reveal that Tashfeen Malik pledged allegiance to the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, on Facebook the morning of the shooting. The Facebook post was made on an alias account they linked back to Malik, and the post was quickly taken down.
At this point authorities have no proof of communication from ISIS themselves, and are speculating that the couple’s attack was ISIS-inspired, but not necessarily following a command. They’re holding off on committing motives to the suspects until further information unfolds.
