Revenge Porn Douchebro Hunter Moore Sentenced To 2.5 Years In Prison

Hunter Moore, who made his name as the “king” of revenge porn, has been sentenced today to two-and-a-half years in prison, along three years of supervised release and a $2000 fine, after pleading guilty this February to one count each of computer hacking and aggravated identity theft.

Moore operated the site IsAnyoneUp.com, where embittered men were encouraged to post nude photos of their exes. However, in addition to this grossness, Moore hired a man named Charles Evans to hack into women’s emails in order to procure even more illicit photos. Evans was sentenced to two years as well this past June.

As a result of the scandal surrounding Hunter Moore and others like him, 24 states have enacted legislation specifically meant to criminalize revenge porn, with many more in the process of drafting it. Which means although Moore is getting off relatively easy, and not technically being prosecuted for revenge porn specifically, anyone who attempts to emulate him will likely be in for a much longer stretch.
