Here’s Everything That’s Coming And Going From Netflix In December

‘Tis the season for Netflix to snatch away some of your favorites and replace them with a bunch of stuff — some good, some bad and a lot that are Christmas-themed. Lucky for you, there’s still time to catch some of the good stuff over this long weekend of family bonding and bleary-eyed Black Friday trips to Target with your cousin.

Leaving us this month are the Jim Henson classics “The Dark Crystal” and “Labryinth,” as well as that family film, “Silence of The Lambs.” Also on its way out is “My Best Friend’s Wedding” and the snooze-y “Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason,” which pales in comparison to the original “Bridget Jones” and should be struck from the record entirely. Mourn not these, little angels, and be glad for the tidings that your streaming fairy godmother has chosen to bestow upon you, just in time for prolonged binging while you hide from Aunt Carol in your bathroom with the iPad.

Perhaps you discovered “Broadchurch” around this time last year, slumped on your couch, your third plate of stuffing and sweet potatoes resting on your distended belly. Maybe you watched the entire thing in one sitting, caught up in the sordid tale of who killed Danny and the undoing of an arrestingly beautiful British seaside town and its residents. And then, you waited for a very long time for the next season to be released somewhere free-ish, so that you could repeat the whole beautiful, vicious cycle all over again. Ready your bodies, your minds and your souls, because the second season of this fantastic British drama is on its way.

We’re also getting “A Very Murray Christmas,” a Bill Murray-helmed holiday variety show with a bunch of famous people and America’s favorite drunk uncle, Bill Murray, duh.

The rest of the new offerings are nothing particularly special, save for the entirety of “Nurse Jackie” at the end of the month, just in time for saying “fuck you” to New Year’s plans and watching Edie Falco slowly but wonderfully ruin her life. We’ll also finally get the “Black Mirror” Christmas special, called “White Christmas”  — featuring Jon Hamm and I don’t know what else, I don’t want to ruin the plot! — on actual Christmas Day. And, Adam Sandler’s racist phantasmagoria, “The Ridiculous Six,” will be available too, but why on earth would you watch that, one assumes you have taste, right?
