Sarah Palin Will Run For Office Again When America Is Ready For Her To Go Rogue
Sarah Palin is again on a whirlwind media tour of sorts, this time promoting her book, Sweet Freedom: A Devotional, and sort of hinting around at how she would maybe like it if more people were asking her to run for office.
In an interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America,” Palin explained “what it would take” to get her to run for political office again:
“What it would take would be knowing the American public would be ready for someone going rogue, you know, calling it like they see it, and having the experience that they see could be put to good use in the name of service. If I really felt that was there in terms of support, I would be more than willing to serve.”
I feel as though I am able to say quite confidently that I will never, ever be ready for Sarah Palin to go rogue. Or, in fact, for anyone holding elected office to do so. Not to mention anyone I’m going out to dinner with. “Going rogue” is not a positive thing.
Palin seems to define this partly as “just sayin'” whatever pops into her head. Which, again, not always the best option, and not always a virtue. Most of the time, it’s a good idea to think before you speak, particularly when you are in a situation that should be taken seriously. Which, you know, should be pretty much every situation when you are an elected official.
