Cate Blanchett’s Streak Of Portraying Off-Kilter Rich Women Will Continue in “Where Did You Go Bernadette”

Director Richard Linklater is slated to direct the movie adaptation of Maria Semple’s 2012 novel, “Where Did You Go Bernadette” and Cate Blanchett, patron saint of icy blonde insane women everywhere, is in talks to play the lead. Blanchett would be starring as the titular character, who disappears on the eve of a family trip to Antarctica. The book is a delight, hysterically funny and sharp, well worth your time. And, ever since Blanchett showed that she could do rich and crazy and slightly off kilter in “Blue Jasmine,” there is no doubt in mind that she’ll knock this one out of the park.

No word on when the movie’s out yet, so there’s still time for you to gather your book club biddies and dive into it so you can be ready for its eventual release.
