Hilarious 4th Grader Refuses To Answer Math Question Because Of “Girl Code”

Invoking feminism to get out of a math problem? Ironic, sure. Genius, yep. Comedy gold, hell yes.

In response to a math homework question about a group of high schoolers going on dates with each other and then switching partners, little Maddy Douglas wrote:

“I can’t answer this problem because my mom says acoording [sic] to girl code you shouldn’t date a friends x boyfriend.”

So rad. In fact, Maddy’s teacher responded, “Good point,” according to Maddy’s mom, who was proud of her daughter’s answer.

But now there’s a hot Facebook debate about whether the question was inappropriate, and whether Maddy’s answer was a snarky replacement for logic skills.

From where I sit (childless, in a bean bag chair), Maddy is a hero for questioning the ethics of the scenario rather than answering the problem blindly. It is a weird question! Who goes on a round robin of high school dates? Teenage sociopaths, that’s who! This sounds like some post apocalyptic dating experiment! “The Hunger Games” of the heart! Woof!

Maddy, you’re the best!
