Bill Cosby Faces Defamation Lawsuit From Yet Another Alleged Victim

On the heels of Janice Dickinson’s defamation lawsuit filed in May against Bill Cosby, another alleged victim has come forward with legal action. A 72-year old New Hampshire woman, Kristina Ruehli filed a lawsuit in Massachusetts on Monday, claiming that Cosby wrongly called her a liar after she came forward with her rape accusations.

According to The New York Times, Ruehli first met Cosby as a 22-year-old secretary at a talent agency in 1965. Like so many of the other women, Ruehli alleges that Cosby gave her drink, which made her pass out. When she came to, she was nude on the bed, with Cosby forcing her to perform oral sex.

Cosby also faces defamation suits from three other women, but this particular suit stems from a Philadelphia Magazine article published last November. Marty Singer, Cosby’s former lawyer, released a statement after Ruehli’s accusations were published in the magazine, saying that they are “unsubstantiated, fantastical stories about things they say occurred 30, 40, or even 50 years ago.”

The beleaguered and disgraced actor is currently fighting three defamation lawsuits, all stemming from the release of excerpts from a 2005 deposition earlier this year. [NY Times]
