Watch Carrie Brownstein & Amy Poehler Officiate A Fan’s Wedding

Yesterday, at a Pasadena book reading celebrating Carrie Brownstein’s “Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl: A Memoir,” a couple asked Brownstein and buddy Amy Poehler, who was part of the event, to officiate their wedding — and they did! The request came during a Q&A session, when a woman in the audience said she’d heard that Brownstein was an ordained minister and that she and her girlfriend had come prepared with their marriage license. Conveniently enough, Brownstein, who became ordained to marry a pair of friends in a few weeks, had her ministry credentials on her and agreed to an impromptu wedding! Poehler made bouquets for them out of a nearby flower arrangement, and Brownstein delivered a sweet, melt-worthy speech during the short ceremony. I am usually the biggest eye-roller at self-centered Q&A requests but this one gets a major free pass, because it’s just too cute. Lesson: anything is possible if you’re willing to just ask (and put celebrities on the spot in situations where they’d look like a jerk to refuse)! In all seriousness, though, congrats to the happy couple! So sweet. [Us Weekly] [Image via Instagram]
