Watch Sir David Attenborough Narrate The Intro To Adele’s “Hello”

Sir David Attenborough, of the nature show narrations and whatnot, was asked by BBC Radio 1 to narrate the intro to Adele’s feelings fantasia, “Hello.” Being a polite old chump with a sense of humor, Attenborough agreed, and the result is pleasing – that is, if you put aside the fact that the entire scenario was engineered for the meme-thirst internet to watch while spinning circles in their desk chairs, whispering “Yaasss, kween” to their computer monitors.

“Back again in the strong winds and the wake of expectation, she’s convinced that now is the time to strike. She, like all pop stars, needs to hunt to survive,” intones the beloved British narrator over the vision that is Adele, speaking into a flip phone, her hair swirling.

“But, there’s a problem! The signal is poor and she hasn’t upgraded her handset since 1999!” he continues. “Hashtag flip phone!”

I never thought we’d live to see the day when esteemed and revered British animal documentary narrator Sir David Attenborough would speak the word “hashtag” out loud, but here we are.
