Are Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Doing The Nasty?
Since their explosive summer divorces (from Gavin Rossdale and country goddess Miranda Lambert, respectively), “The Voice” judges Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been spending a lot of time together. The extremely mismatched pair has claimed they’re just friends, but watching their flirty banter over the past few months has been about as awkward as watching Mom and Dad kiss, so clearly they are totally doing it.
As if that weren’t gross enough, E! News has what it claims is proof of a fling: questionably grainy photos of the two canoodling at Adam Levine and Maroon 5’s Halloween party this past weekend. In the photos, Shelton reportedly (those pictures are so fuzzy that it’s hard to tell) places his hands all over Stefani’s shoulders, waist, and ass while Stefani is seen “looking up adoringly at Shelton.” Adoringly. Apparently, the “Voice” gang spent most of Halloween weekend partying together, and their behavior at each event — holding hands, leaving parties together — was full of suggestions that Shelton and Stefani are having a “secret” whirlwind romance. A source told E! that flirtation abounds on the set of “The Voice”:
“They are definitely flirty on the set and you can see they have fun together. There is something going on between them and they have spent time together off set. They don’t want to label anything or define it, they just really like each other and happen to be going through similar things in their lives. Gwen has spent time at Blake’s house in the Hollywood Hills recently. They want it to stay under the radar and not make it a big public thing because who knows what will happen.”
The plot thickened when Stefani was interrogated about the relationship on Carson Daly’s radio show Monday morning:
“We’re just trying to have fun, you know? … I was literally that party girl that you hear about when their life blows up … Everybody knows that I was married forever and now I’m not. And so, could you imagine what my life is like right now? It’s crazy!”
As far as her upcoming new album, Stefani said:
“I just want the truth to come out. I just want to be honest and real and I just want to do stuff that represents where I’m at right now.”
It would be totally irresponsible of me to float a crazy conspiracy theory like the idea that the Stefani/Shelton drama existed prior to any divorces and was responsible for marriages ending, so I will just settle on a more tame (but equally ridiculous) theory that the “truth” she’s referring to in her new album is announcing to the planet that she’s made things official with Shelton.
In all honesty, I could care less about Stefani’s mediocre ex Gavin Rossdale, but I most definitely give a fuck about Miranda Lambert and am having all the feels about this because of her. Gwen and Gavin were cute and all, but their divorce didn’t spark anywhere near the level of national heartbreak that Miranda and Blake’s split did. How much must this suck for Lambert? My hope is that she’s already long over Shelton’s lame ass and busy living her best life and milking every last drop of her heartbreak into making amazing music. Keep your head up, girl: this is just a rebound.
