You Guys, This Lifetime “Center Stage” Movie Is Going To Be Incredible

“Center Stage,” the best movie about ballerinas (sorry “Black Swan”), is getting the Lifetime treatment, which is fantastic news for fans of well-shot dance moves, high-class drama and Peter Gallagher’s caterpillar eyebrows. Mashable reports that Lifetime is currently in production on “Center Stage: Dance Camp,” which is a sequel-reboot starring lots and lots of the original cast members. What have we done to deserve this?

The “Dance Camp” iteration of this wonderful cultural institution will focus on Jonathan Reeves (Peter Gallagher) “infusing more contemporary styles and modernism into the American Ballet Academy.” Along with Charlie (Sascha Radetsky), ew Cooper ew (Ethan Stiefel) and Tommy (Kenny Wormald), they recruit dancers, bring them to the aforementioned camp and audition the shit out of the young hopefuls. It goes without saying that things will get out of hand, as only ambitious ballerinas with a thirst for fame can do.

New additions to the cast include Nicole Munoz, who will play a dancer looking to get out of her sister’s shadow, and Chloe Lukasiak, a “Dance Moms” star who has arguably spent lots of time in Maddie Ziegler’s goddamn shadow, and thank god she’s getting this opportunity, guys, seriously.

The TV movie is currently filming in Vancouver, and there’s no word on an actual release date yet. I will be executing flawless fouetté turns in a leotard and a high ponytail for the foreseeable future in anticipation.
