Carly Fiorina Admits She Was Wrong About 92 Percent Job Loss Claim

This weekend, GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina appeared on “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” and admitted that she was wrong when she stated at the most recent debate that 92 percent of the job losses in President Obama’s first term belonged to women. “I misspoke on that particular fact,” Fiorina told Stephanopoulos. “In this particular case, the fact-checkers are correct. The 92 percent it turns out was the first three-and-a-half years of [Obama’s] term and in the final six months things improved.”

Fiorina did not mention another key point made by the many fact-checkers who called her out on her bullshit the second the words left her mouth last week, which was that Obama also entered into his presidency two years into the recession, which no doubt had a little something to do with those unemployment numbers. Fiorina couldn’t bother with that little tidbit, because she had quickly moved on to deflecting her attention back onto the real scourge in politics — the liberal media! You know, those people who wouldn’t let her get away with that little lie, with their “facts” and “fact-checking.” BASTARDS.

“But this is what the liberal media always does, it attacks the messenger trying to avoid the message,” Fiorina went on. “Here is the message: It is factually true that women have been hit very hard by progressive policies.”

Well, no. Because as you clarified, when it comes to employment, things actually improved for women during the end of Obama’s first term. What is factually true is that conservatives like to whine about the liberal media “attacking” them, but by “attack,” they actually mean “fact check,” which is what the media is actually supposed to do when blowhards like Fiorina lie and cross their fingers that no one notices. Alas, Fiorina and the rest of the GOP would prefer the media just STFU if they’re not going to fellate their lies, and since no journalist worth their degree would agree to such nonsense, the last GOP debate has been suspended. America, everyone! What a country. [ABC News]
