Bill Cosby Will Have To Testify In Janice Dickinson’s Lawsuit

A judge has ordered Bill Cosby and his former attorney Martin Singer to give depositions in the defamation lawsuit Janice Dickinson has filed against them, the Associated Press reports.

The former supermodel and “America’s Next Top Model” alum, who is among the many, many women accusing Bill Cosby of drugging and raping them, states in her lawsuit that she was re-victimized by Singer’s adamant denial of this to the press last year.

While we all know that Cosby is the subject of more than a few lawsuits, this isn’t Singer’s first time to the rodeo either. He was sued for defamation in 2006 by Andrea Constand, a Temple University worker also accusing Cosby of drugging and raping her. The AP reports that “the lawsuit revealed Singer had been involved in a deal with the National Enquirer that granted the magazine an exclusive interview with the comedian in exchange for killing a story about another woman accusing Cosby of abuse.”

Which, wow, is awfully shady.

The judge believes the depositions given at the hearing will lead to the truth about whether or not Bill Cosby drugged and raped Dickinson in 1982.

Personally? I’m not so sure. I think he’ll probably just keep lying. At this point though? I don’t think anyone believes him anyway. Even Whoopi Goldberg has started to change her tune.

However, I’m glad Dickinson is filing the lawsuit. I certainly don’t think she’s doing it for money at all–particularly given the fact that, despite all the gross speculation about it, she never asked for, or got, a single dime for her interviews about the incident. I think she just wants to see him squirm. And really, who the hell can blame her? [Associated Press]
