Cocks Not Glocks: University Of Texas Students Will Protest Campus Carry Law With Dildos

Students at the University of Texas at Austin plan to protest a new campus conceal carry law, allowing students to carry concealed firearms on campus, when it goes into effect next August — but they’re going about it in what you might call a “cocky” way. That’s because, instead of simply carrying your standard protest signs, these students will be coming armed with dildos, which organizers say are as effective in protecting victims from mass shooters as concealed weapons, yet are prohibited from class for being “obscene.”

“You’re carrying a gun to class? Yeah well I’m carrying a HUGE DILDO. Just about as effective at protecting us from sociopathic shooters, but much safer for recreational play,” the organizer, Jessica Jin, wrote on the event’s Facebook page. Already, nearly 4,000 students have RSVPed for the Campus (DILDO) Carry taking place on August 24, 2016.

Students aren’t the only ones opposed to the law. University of Texas System Chancellor William McRaven has come out against the law, telling CNN, “I’ve spent my whole life around guns. I grew up in Texas hunting. I spent 37 years in the military. I like guns, but I just don’t think having them on campus is the right place.” His position is also supported by campus police chiefs across the country, with nine out of 10 in favor of prohibiting guns on campus.

Jin is aware that dildos and vibrators aren’t exactly cheap, so she’s in the market for a sponsor. “I know that quality dildos, especially super large ones, can be a little pricey,” she wrote on FB. “If we can gather enough willing participants, I will personally take it upon myself to put in the time and legwork to find a dildo supplier sponsorship.”

Sounds like a great cause to, ahem, get behind. [Think Progress]
