Lady Gaga’s Video For “Til It Happens To You” Draws Attention To Campus Sexual Assault
Lady Gaga’s new difficult to watch video for “Til It Happens To You” features a series of scenes in which women endure sexual abuse and violence set in common college settings — and a portion of the proceeds for the song will benefit organizations supporting sexual assault survivors. The song — a collaboration with Diane Warren — is featured in the film “The Hunting Ground,” a documentary about campus sexual assault that came out in January, and the video is directed by Catherine Hardwicke, best known for her work on the “Twilight” films and “Thirteen.” The support available for sexual assault survivors is highlighted in the video, as many of the video’s victims seek out or receive help. Gaga tweeted that the song and video were “for people all over the world who suffer from painful life experiences.”
