Trump: Opposing Same-Sex Marriage Is A “Dead Issue”

Scary as this is, Donald Trump might be the only viable GOP candidate who would be good for the gay community (sorry, Kasich). He told the Hollywood Reporter that opposing same-sex marriage is a “dead issue,” elaborating:

“Some people have hopes of passing amendments, but it’s not going to happen. Congress can’t pass simple things, let alone that. So anybody that’s making that an issue is doing it for political reasons. The Supreme Court ruled on it.”

Which sounds… Sane? Weird. Trump has also been to a few same-sex weddings and found them “beautiful” and, seemingly, overall very pleasant.

Meanwhile, the Republican National Convention has passed a resolution supporting a law that would let businesses invoke the First Amendment to discriminate against gays, on grounds of “religious freedom.” Yet this is their frontrunner! No one is really paying close attention to their parties’ politics, are they?
