Josh Duggar Blames “Internet Porn” For Ashley Madison Account

Welp! Here it is! Josh Duggar has officially responded to–and confirmed–the discovery that he had an Ashley Madison account and was looking to cheat on his wife while literally making a living pushing so-called “traditional marriage.” He also appears to confirm having actually gone through with cheating on her.

Via DuggarFamily.com:

I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.

I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.

The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, in my heart I had allowed Satan to build a fortress that no one knew about.

As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.

You know what, Josh? You can go fuck yourself with your apology. Yes, you are a hypocrite. You actively worked to disallow other people the right to get married, because you believed so much in “traditional marriage.” You did this for a living. Professionally. As the Executive Director of Family Research Council Action–which is considered an anti-gay hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center–you actively lobbied to deny people their rights on the grounds that their marriages were not holy like yours.

You don’t get forgiveness. What you get is a lesson– a biblical one, in fact. Matthew 7:3: Don’t point out the speck of sawdust in someone else’s eye until you take the log out of your own.

You don’t get to blame “internet porn” and you don’t get to blame “Satan.” Blame your damn self. Blame your family for raising you to be a goddamned bigot, for teaching you that sex before marriage and even normal dating and kissing were evil forbidden acts for evil people. Blame your fucked up fundamentalist bullshit. If you want to be a mensch, what you need to be saying is that you will now be keeping your gaping maw shut when it comes to where you think other people are “sinning.”

You don’t need to apologize to your “fans” or your family’s “fans.” I don’t even give a crap if you apologize to your wife. The people you owe the biggest apology to are the LGBT Americans whom you actively attempted to oppress on the grounds that your kind of marriage and your kind of lifestyle was “holy” and theirs was not. Until then, you can go fuck yourself.
