Duggars Shocked People Think That Whole Molestation Thing Was A Big Deal

Another day, another thing to remind us all that the Duggars are garbage humans! This time, an “insider” spoke to People magazine and told them that the Duggars just cannot figure out why people have some kind of problem with the fact that their son Josh molested at least five girls as a teenager and that they then covered it up and subsequently made a living off of telling everyone else that they were terrible sinners. (And, as we learned yesterday, Josh is extra, extra hypocritical, what with his ASHLEY MADISON ACCOUNT and all…)

“They are still stunned that this is how it has all gone down,” a source who has worked closely with them tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story. “I think they are still trying to absorb the fact that their life has so radically changed.”

“The better part of the last decade has been doing their show, and to have that removed – and instead for there to be this intense scrutiny of their every move – just isn’t something you get used to overnight,” says the source.

When it comes to Josh’s “mistakes,” parents Michelle, 48, and Jim Bob, 50, “truly felt people would understand and eventually be okay with it,” adds the source.

In what world would anyone think people would be okay with something like that? Have they ever met another human outside of their own cult? I mean, given the fact that they have hardly been “okay” with other — legal, by the way – choices other people have made in their lives.

I mean, really. I’m sorry, but you do not get to go around acting all holy and talking about how your kids save their first kiss for their wedding day, and how gay people are bad, and trans people are bad and should also not be allowed to use public restrooms for god knows how many years — and then have it come out that your kid was a child molester and you covered it up and expect that people are going to be “okay” with that. No. This seems obvious.

Sorry, but I am pretty sure that there is an official rule of humanity somewhere about people who have molested children, or covered up child molestation, needing to shut their mouths about whatever anyone else has done with their lives, forever. You molest a kid, you relinquish your right to judge anyone. You relinquish your right to be all holier than thou. You do not star in a television series about how fabulously wholesome you are. That is not going to fly. And no, no one is letting you go back to doing that. It’s not happening, so find some other way to make a living already.

Also, no one cares that you are “sad” that you don’t have a television show. You know who also does not have a television show? Pretty much everyone else in the world! And yet somehow, we all survive.
