Donald Trump Gave Princess Diana The Creeps, Kept Trying To Romance Her

Well, it looks as though Donald Trump doesn’t always get what he wants after all. Because it seems the presidential contender really, really wanted to get with Princess Diana before she died, and Princess Diana was not having it.

According to British TV Presenter Selina Scott, Trump “bombarded her at Kensington Palace with massive bouquets of flowers, each worth hundreds of pounds.” Diana grew increasingly concerned with Trump’s behavior towards her, saying that he gave her the “creeps.” Scott stated that “as the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment she became increasingly concerned about what she should do. It had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her.”

First of all, this would have had to have been while he was married to either Ivana Trump (1977-1992 or Marla Maples (1993-1999), given that this occurred after Diana and Charles split. So there’s that.

Second, Trump reportedly told friends after Diana died that he was mostly sad about the fact that they had never dated, and wrote of this in his book The Art of The Comeback:

“I only have one regret in the women department – that I never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer. I met her on a number of occasions. I couldn’t help but notice how she moved people. She lit up the room with her charm, her presence. She was a genuine princess – a dream lady.”

According to Scott, Trump saw the late princess as his dream “trophy wife.”

Now, Princess Diana may have made some questionable romantic choices in life, but can you even imagine a situation where she’d be into anyone like Donald Trump? I cannot. But jeez, it says a lot about Trump that he so clearly felt entitled to be romantically involved with royalty.
