Australian Doctor Extols Disturbing “Holocaust Victim Diet” On Live TV
On Australia’s “Today Show,” frequent guest Dr. Ric Gordon went off on a bit of an ill-advised tangent about weight loss that somehow ended up in Godwin’s Law territory.
Dr. Gordon suggested that Holocaust victims proved that weight loss can be achieved through “diet” alone, without exercise.
Nevermind the fact that this is not true and that those in concentration camps were worked like slaves for many hours a day — why on earth would those words come out of anyone’s mouth? Why? Why would you even say that? Out loud. On live television.
I am going to say right now that no one needs to be listening to any doctor who recommends concentration camp victims as thinspo. I don’t care what he’s using it in reference to. Nothing about that is OK. [TIME]
