State Rep. Who Faked Gay Sex Scandal Says He Was Blackmailed

Hey! Remember that needlessly complicated-seeming scandal from last week about the Tea Party State Rep. from Michigan? You know, the one who concocted an elaborate scheme involving planting a fake rumor about himself having an affair with a male prostitute in order to cover up his very real affair with a fellow “Tea Party Gladiator” State Rep?

WELL! That whole thing is getting even more needlessly complicated and ridiculous. Rep. Todd Courser has now released his own half-hour long recording explaining his actions. He is now saying that he had no recourse but to start the rumor, because he was being harassed by a blackmailer, and that was the only way to “disrupt” the blackmailer and to find clues as to who was performing all this surveillance on his life. No idea how that would actually work, but OK.

Courser also says that the former aide who released the recording of his dastardly plan, along with several other staffers, was in cahoots with the Lansing “mafia,” whose goal it was to engage in “clandestine operations to control public officials.”

He stated that he will not be resigning, because he does not want to let this imaginary mafioso blackmailer win — and besides, he believes his message is correct, even if he is a “broken messenger.” Although I don’t know how many people really wanna hear about the gloriousness of traditional marriage from a dude who’s been cheating on his wife.
